About The Pilot

Farm Pilot

This BorealDX pilot explores how intelligent environmental sensing, soil monitoring and realtime telemetry can support local farmers throughout the growing season.

By combining soil moisture observations, soil temperature measurements and environmental intelligence, the system helps agricultural operators better understand field conditions and anticipate crop development.

Developed with professional meteorological expertise, the BorealDX sensing platform is designed to achieve WMO-level observation quality through accurate sensors, robust measurement methods and internationally recognized observation principles.

Long-term environmental and soil data collected by the platform is used to develop artificial intelligence models capable of identifying patterns, predicting changing field conditions and providing increasingly accurate decision support for agricultural operations.

The objective is to provide practical decision-support tools that help improve crop performance, optimize field operations and reduce uncertainty in changing environmental conditions. At the same time, high-quality environmental observations support sustainable agriculture by enabling more efficient use of nutrients, water and other resources, reducing nutrient runoff into water bodies, and contributing to climate change mitigation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Platform

BorealDX Platform

The BorealDX platform connects distributed environmental sensors, telemetry infrastructure and realtime analytics into a unified operational view.

The Artjärvi pilot represents one deployment of the wider BorealDX environmental intelligence platform.
